On the calendar
Eight days along the northern Alta Via, hut-to-hut, with two rest mornings built in so you can actually look at the mountains.
A week that builds a real picture of Kyoto, Nara, and the northern lakes, paced so you can stay for tea and not rush the next temple.
The full W plus a remote extension into the French Valley, with buffer days for weather and a final estancia morning.
How a route is built
Every route starts as one a lead guide already loves. We walk it twice, in different seasons, before it is published — once for the line, once for the morning.
A route lives or dies on its first two hours. We pay close attention to the start of each day: a long transfer, a scramble for breakfast, a misleading trailhead — these set the tone.
After the first scouting run we cut activity, not add it. The Patagonia traverse originally had nine walking days. It now has eight, plus a buffer. The buffer is the point.
A route is not published until a named guide has signed off. The name on the departure calendar is the person who will walk it with you. There is no anonymous roster.
